Respite Weekends - four weekends have been set aside for these - now we wait to hear from our funders - we have a great team of presenters and assistants - Gina Wilson Naturopath, Leila Maason Pediatrician, Elisa Slaat ABA educator, Maxine Barrett Fitness Trainer, Gabby Hogg - adult with ASD -
we will keep you informed as these are firmed up - these continue to be valuable to our families - as illustrated in the recent media, the more equipped families are the more able they become.
ASD Kids Sport and Recreation - for those already participating please go to the survey page and fill in - on drop down menu above - CLICK HERE
After more than a year our athletes are ready to now move on to working and playing as a team. We will offer this to any athlete who has been with us for a year of skill development, or shows the necessary skills to move up.
The plan, based on family feedback, is to run an advanced session after our regular clinic on a Saturday. This will be based on team learning techniques - it will involve a lot of expertise from the ASD professionals who have extensive knowledge in sports. We plan to enter either Special Olympics weekend Ribbon Days or combine with Home Schooling groups and get a league going during the week - or both.
We have applied for a full time supervisor for this development role.
Thank you to our wonderful coaches Nick, Randy and Luke.
Welcome to our new members.
We are at capacity, funding dependent we will start another session closer to the city and north shore to take into account where our families are travelling from.
We are a web based charity, we do not have regular staff, use the contact form or contact the service provider directly - we do not have an office - our focus is totally hands on - we are about engaging with professionals who want to team with us to deliver community programmes with the person/s with ASD - we focus on quality community lives as a family - your Disability rights and the Disability Act state this as a human right - we are about putting in place real activities for those with ASD to make this a reality not merely an idea.
