our families who have been attending for the last few years have all contributed in Term 2 to keep these programmes available - some had to not attend due to finances/priorities - now its available with funding once more - what's the big deal about basketball - hmmm its simply stunning - everyone can join in - we keep the environment predictable - this enables kids to build coping skills - usually its not the level of noise its the unpredictablity of "what happens next" and noises out of "left field" that create overload and stress ......... this is truly superb coaching ....... two of our coaches are from the Breakers, and from Auckland Stars - others are older siblings who play basketball at rep levels - this is about the best of the best coming together to enable family fun and friendships to happen and at the same time to become great at a sport that can be played individually/in small groups/in "pick-up" games/at school/at home - and mum's its indoors - as kids get more and more skilled, love of the game develops, then parents are able to simply enjoy from the sidelines.
Transport is available from the North Shore for those who are keen.
Go to contact page if interested - deal is come along and watch a session and see if it is a fit - you may be surprised - we have kids on the severe end of the spectrum and kids who are aspergers - everyone is developing similar yet different skills - all based on what their requirements are - as a family we simply love that we can participate - our now 16 year old (diagnosed severe) really didn't get it for at least a term - but then he did and then he thrived - it truly is now a great outing for us each week and his siblings are engaged with him via sport - how Kiwi Kool CLICK HERE
